Every element of The Fiddlers Rest has been thoughtfully designed and meticulously handcrafted. From the books lining our bookcases to the pictures on the walls and the trinkets adorning the bar, each piece has been carefully selected. Every corner of the bar tells a story, inviting you to spend hours exploring the items and paintings that line the walls.
The Bar
Our bar itself was handmade by a local craftsman, and every sign you see has been hand- painted by a local artist. In certain areas, you’ll notice the exposed original brickwork, adding to the charm. All our furniture has been custom-designed specifically for the bar, ensuring a unique and inviting atmosphere.
During our renovations, we uncovered The Scullery, a hidden gem dating back to 1903. We
have designed this area of the bar to evoke a setting where Seamus Heaney himself would
feel inspired to sit and pen his latest work.
Our bar always buzzes with a fantastic atmosphere, especially during live horse racing or
football matches. It’s the perfect place to watch events like the All-Ireland Final or the
Galway Races.
You’ll notice the horse racing theme woven throughout the bar, celebrating our local
champions, including AP McCoy, who has graciously given us a signed set of his silks.
The only thing better than a pint of Guinness is two pints of Guinness.
Our two beer gardens, each equipped with multiple viewing TV screens, ensure you never miss a moment of the action. Whether you’re here to catch the latest sports events or simply enjoy the vibrant outdoor atmosphere, our beer gardens provide the perfect setting. Both gardens feature cozy fireplaces, adding a warm and inviting touch to your experience. With comfortable seating, ample space, and a lively ambiance, you can relax and unwind while savouring your favourite drinks and cheering on your team from any angle.
